Brett Favre Retires
4
Mar
2008

In a sad blow to the game of football, Brett Favre, the ironman quarterback who brought a new meaning to “tough,” has decided to hang up the cleats (or some other sports related cliche) for the last time.

The move is somewhat shocking because it seemed that Favre had a great time last year as well as the Packers making a deep playoff run, being a play or two away from making it to the Super Bowl.  It seemed that he was having a good time last year as well, and it seemed to be a foregone conclusion that he would come back next year.

There was some talk that perhaps the Packers not making a strong move for Randy Moss soured Brett on the organization and perhaps that is the case, as that would have been an amazing combination.  If that is the case however, the Packers management might find a backlash and anger directed towards them the likes of which haven’t been seen since the Chargers drafted Ryan Leaf, but way worse.

Of course, there is still time for Favre to come back for next season, because quite frankly Aaron Rogers is going to be awful, and the Packers should do anything and everything to try to get him to come back.  Come back Brett!

I read last night he was contemplating retirement but didn’t know he actually pulled the trigger.

I don’t agree with the talk about Moss. The WR’s aren’t the problem, it’s the offensive line.

I have to disagree with you regarding Rodgers. I’m not a Packers fan but the guy showed me something against the Cowboys.

What do you base your opinion on regarding Rodgers?

The main issue I have with Rodgers is that I think in his heart of hearts, he thinks he should have beaten Favre out of the starting job. Also, he kind of looks like a douche.. and he went to Cal. 3 rock solid reasons if I’ve ever heard any.

Well, I know when I whipped. How could I possibly argue against that? LOL

Hahaha, nice to know you’re okay with it :)

I don’t know, I mean, to me, some QB’s have “it” and well, Rodgers doesn’t seem to have “it” is all. But I said the same thing about Derek Anderson (who looks like he should be throwing darts at the corner bar more than being a pro QB), so what do I know?

But Rodgers.. went to CAL… I mean, eww.

Guys like Favre have been playing football since before high school. So, that’s, like a dozen years…or so. He’s been playing so long, and with his comments about how he thinks he can still play but he’s just “mentally tired” I bet he misses it and makes a comeback.

Vanderbilt forward Ross Neltner’s ability to know how many timeouts Vandy has left at the of the Arkansas game sucks.

Hey – good blog, just looking around some blogs, appears a fairly great platform you might be utilizing. I’m currently utilizing Wordpress for a few of my websites but looking to alter 1 of them more than to a platform comparable to yours as being a trial run. Something in particular you’d suggest about it?
