Beatdown

The Vols, like a hooded mugger in a dark alley, took it to South Carolina in a way that made the Gamecocks feel used and scared afterwards.  The beatdown started early with an 11-0 run, and really, never let up.

The BasketVols now extend their record to 14-1 (approximately the same number of wins Buzz Peterson had during his entire tenure at UT), and for once, didn’t let a big lead slip away, which was a nice sight to see.  The game wasn’t frantic in terms of pace, but the boys in Orange didn’t seem to care.

Lofton continued to suck however, and until he starts feeling his stroke more and more, he’s going to suck for the foreseeable future.  It seems like he’s pulling his shots a little bit, as every miss seems to be short, but hopefully he’ll get better as the competition picks up.

With Vanderbilt losing today (to Kentucky… wtf?), there are now no more undefeated teams in the Southeastern Conference.  Next week’s game between Tennessee and Vanderbilt however, is still by far, the marquee matchup for a league that is decidedly down this year.

I for one, am expecting a win in that game (as in every game), and hope the boys in the striped orange pants (I need a pair of those) can get it done.

WTF? LOL! Man, when UT football is in the crapper, everyone goes dillusional and thinks they are actually going to win something in basketball. That’s pretty funny to me. Whoever wrote that garbage of “always expecting a win from the guys in orange stripes” needs a clue. I’ll sell you one for $19.95. :)

the “Whoever” you are referring to would be me, as can be seen in the byline of the article that you read. no one on here ever said anything about UT winning in bball because the football team was down. in fact, we were quite happy with the result this year, winning the SEC East, and winning the Outback Bowl.

may I refer you to the GVX post a few posts down, as it seems that you have mistakenly found this site whilst looking for GVX.

    Thanks for reading!
