Sometimes it’s good to try to be objective. Other times, it’s good to be a little biased. Almost never, is it good to always lean away.
What I am referring to of course, is the awesomest dude in the world: Brent Hubbs.
Now, I don’t now, nor have I ever, paid for online content (of the football variety, because well, man’s gotta do what he’s gotta do), and Brent Hubbs isn’t really helping himself out at all by making guest appearances on NFL Network’s show: College Football Now.
Luckily, we DO have a homer on the show in Charles Davis, a former DB for the Vols. Davis actually picks the Vols occasionally when he feels like they have a chance to win, although he tries to be as objective as possible without appearing biased.
Hubbs on the other hand, I suppose in order to endear himself… raise the ire of fans… I don’t even know what he’s trying to do, is remarkable in his consistently anti-Tennessee picks for the outcomes of games. I wouldn’t be surprised if Hubbs was one of the people that was sad that UT won the East because it meant keeping Fulmer around a while longer.
If there are any members of Volquest out there, does Hubbs even post or write on his own site? Where does the money go? To pay for Brent’s pit o’ despair?
Do you read our site Mr. Hubbs? If so… why do you suck? We’ll give you the opportunity to respond to us, and we’ll post up what you said (and probably edit it to make you look dumb(er)).

I’ve never paid either. I’m not going to pay for information I can hear when I turn SportsTalk on the radio at 3pm. GoVolsXtra for the same reason. I can’t read online what I can read in the paper I
don’talready subscribe to? Luckily they came to their senses and made that free.I don’t get the NFL network, but I like Hubbs a lot more than I like Pennington or Hooker.
I subscribe to Volquest and I think Brent has come out and said something about the way he intentionally will pick against TN. I think he might’ve gotten burned really bad during the 2001 SEC championship game or something and since then he’s been hesitant to pick TN when they’re favored??? Someone can correct me where I’m wrong cause I’m sure I screwed that up.
Otherwise, there is usually pretty decent content on the site and they usually put up 3-4 articles a day.
Well said. Never cared for Hubbs’ constant anti-Tennessee thing. I mean, didn’t he pick Louisiana-Lafayette over Tennessee by 35 earlier this season. Kinda reminds me of the KNS’ John Adams when he hasn’t taken his meds. Actually, in all fairness to Hubbs, given the fact he always sounds like his nose is stopped up when he talks on the radio and TV, I think he could have a serious condition where all the accumulated snot in his head is choking his brain, and preventing rational thought. God knows, before I discovered Claritin I had the same problem and spent a decade believing that I was Joan of Arc…
Oh yeah, and thanks for the Blogroll link… much appreciated.
