Geaux Tigers?

Well, more interesting developments over a HUGE college football weekend. One of the more important to note for Tennessee fans would be the loss of the Florida Gators to the Tigers of LSU. Tennessee now controls their own destiny in the Eastern Division, where if they can win out, they will be able to take their place in the SEC championship game. As Don pointed out, the Vols would have a chance to upset LSU’s hopes of a National Title which would be sweet redemption for 2001 when the Vols overlooked a determined LSU team in the SECCG and missed their chance to go to the Rose Bowl.

I don’t know if anyone else caught this, but it seemed to me that Tebow kept his helmet on at the end of the game because well… he was CRYING! The face was all red, the face looked kinda scrunched up and funny (granted, it looks like that most of the time anyway), and well, I swear I saw some tears. Yay HD.

Tebow: running towards a box of tissues

The Tigers didn’t look invincible, but they made the plays when they had to including a couple of suspect 4th down calls when most coaches probably would have gone for the points. But I’ll have to hand it to Les Miles, he rolled the dice a few times, and it paid off for him. As Gary Danielson so poignantly pointed out, the “white back” was able to make the plays needed when his team needed them the most. Jacob Hester is absolutely the MVP of the game, and well… they made Tebow cry.

More to come during the week…
