Who to hate more?

So, since there’s absolutely nothing else going on right now, I thought I’d bring up an interesting question to not only Tennessee fans, but fans across the SEC. Who do you hate more? Les Miles? or Nick Saban?

Les Miles, the current LSU Tigers coach, was formerly of the Big XII, and basically handed a team loaded with talent like nobody’s business. Of course, having even a pulse would have guided those teams to 11 win seasons, but we’ve seen in the past, bigger bunglings with similar talent. Miles was thrown into the fire in his first season having to deal with the aftermath of hurricanes Katrina and Rita, which must have been difficult to handle, but Miles was able to hold his head high, and keep up a semblance of sanity and class throughout the whole ordeal. Also, he learned that he needed a big boy headset at that first home game against Tennessee.

Nick Saban, the former LSU Tigers coach and current coach of the Alabama Crimson Tide, left LSU unceremoniously only to head back to the ranks of the SEC West but at a different school only 2 years after having left a program that he took to the national title game. Of course, he burned quite a few bridges at LSU due to his departure, but apparently became the messiah of Tuscaloosa when he signed on to be the second coming of Bear Bryant.

Both coaches have been with powerhouse programs, and both coaches are just a little bit smug and coach in the West, but if I would have to choose, I guess I’d have to choose Saban to hate more. Not only because he’s just a little too smug, but because he coaches now for the team that is evil. Here’s hoping to the two coaches fist fighting every year, with Miles’ baby-headset squaring off against Saban’s super-locks.

    Definitely Saban

Not even close. Les Miles speaks his mind. We complain when we get nothing but coach-speak from these guys, and then suddenly we leap all over a guy like Miles when he speaks his mind. Somewhat hypocritical, ain’t it?

Nick Saban is a hired gun. That’s all. For the sake of college football, I hope he fais at ‘Bama.

Interesting. I mean, to me, both are just as bad as well, they’re both rival coaches. People who haven’t commented yet, what do you think? And if you read this and don’t comment, it’s because you’re not cool.

In theory, isn’t every coach just a hired gun? I know people will through building a program and teaching young men about right and wrong; however, if they don’t win they get tossed out faster than month old milk no matter what they did for the community or players. Fulmer stays around cause he’s been able to win, plain and simple.

I say Miles. I appreciate him actually giving us something to talk about, but he does it in such an unintelligent fashion that it drives me up the wall. Plus, he’s just goofy.

excuse me, “throw”. I’m sorry about that, I’ve been cramming for a summer class midterm all day and I’m pretty tired.

Stuart, that is a really terrible excuse. I mean, school? c’mon. And not even school SUMMER school. No one studies for a summer class. That’s when people go and sleep for an hour, until the professor himself gets so sleepy that he’ll let the class go 2 hours early (i’ve had lots of experience in this arena).

But you know, I can’t harsh on you too much because you did comment, and like I said earlier, everyone who comments is cool. So you’re cool Stu. Work on those excuses.

You would cram too if you understood that the midterm counts for 40% of my grade. This week (well, 3 days of it) I work my butt off, the rest of the summer I chill. So I’m sticking with the excuse lol.

Wow, 40%? That really is the sign of a lazy professor. “Um, midterm 40%, final 40%… writing your name on the paper correctly… 20%…, where’s my paycheck?”

    Hope you did well.

Ummm…why hate on Les Miles at all? The fact that he is so goofy, that’s not punishment enough?

For the record…I don’t hate Saban, either. Sure, I’d like to see him fail, but my SEC hatred will always be for Tuberville.

    homer alert!!!… hehehe

yeah, i mean, there’s nothing else to talk about ya know? and that’s like the only coaching story of the year, so i felt the need to write something about it… not because i’m lazy and don’t want to look up new stories, but you know…
