Craptactular Weekend

2006

Well, there’s a craptacular weekend of games coming up.  So much so that the CBS SEC game of the week is Alabama Arkansas.  Me and Don could put on a game more entertaining than that.  There aren’t too many big games on tap, with probably the only decent game being a (gasp) Pac-10 matcup between Arizona State and California.

That having been said, this would be a good weekend to go out and do stuff that you’ve been meaning to do.  For me, this would mean finally taking a shower, but for you, it could mean whatever.  Let’s take a look at what else you could do:
1. Mow the lawn: During the early edition of College Gameday, which will no doubt eminate this week from Idaho or some other random city that doesn’t have anything to do with anything, you could be out doing something productive like wasting gas and making lots of noise just to redistribute grass from standing up to laying down.

Bustin’ it old school
2. Play with your kids: If you have kids, you might want to take this Saturday as your opportunity to play with them.  Since they’ve started school again, they probably have felt bad about not seeing their parents at all on Saturdays for the last month or so.  I konw it’s annoying, but you should have thought of that before you decided that pulling out was too good for you.

3. Read a book: Ok, so I died a little bit when I wrote that, and I’m also a proponent of the whole “put me in the worst seat of the two worst teams in college football, and I’ll be happy” idea, but this is the kind of weekend that makes me rethink the whole “reading for fun” idea as well.
There are three fabulous ideas for tomorrow, but if you’re not going to heed my advice and watch football tomorrow anyway, might want to keep the guns out of reach, for your tv’s sake, as well as your own.

[...] Other parts of the conferences included West Virginia surviving East Carolina, Pitt taking care of business, Louisville looking pretty strong against another inferior opponent, and a bunch of other crappy games on Craptacular Saturday. [...]

[...] Ok, now it’s week 5? Ok, cool.Another name for this week, well, let’s see, since Craptacular Saturday has already been used, so, Shitacular Saturday is going to have to be it. With another week of a bunch of crappy games on tap, we look forward to the not that exciting game of the week. I’ll just say this before I continue: the best games of the weekend have already passed. The Auburn vs. South Carolina game was exciting to the last play, and the Rutgers vs. South Florida game actually did not disappoint like the Friday night games usually do. [...]
