Don already posted the sad news, and I felt the need to write something as well, but it took me a few minutes to stop crying log in to the site to write the post.
Honestly, this is sad on more than one front. Obviously, now this site is dead and no one will ever need to come back here ever again (in fact, what are you doing here now?). On the other hand, it’s sad that basically one of the only to coaches I’ve ever known to coach for Tennessee (Johnny Majors being the other obviously), is now history.
The coach did what he could to appease people who hated the fact that he kept hiring from “within the family” by hiring Dave Clawson (who I thought still could have done fine given some time), but when that failed, the first thing everyone wanted was his job. That being said, Don and I are still available.
For those of you coming to our site to see how we’re coping with the unfortunate situation, well, Don sold his car to pay for the hosting of the site (I was supposed to give him half the money back, but I spent it playing craps a few months ago in Vegas), and well, I’m currently inconsolable. If there are any typos, it’s because I’m crying all over my keyboard, and I think I’ve shorted out a couple of lttrs.
As the search for the new coach begins, obviously the search for a new website name should begin too. Should we become a basketball-centric blog and call ourselves PearlsSweatyCoat.com? FutureCoachsDistinguishingBodyPart.com? We’ll see. Until then, keep coming here, because honestly, we’re probably too lazy to do anything about it. Perhaps we should pick something more stable like “Oakland Raiders Coach of the Moment.com”

Sorry to hear about coach Phil, though as a Dawg I hated the man I never like to see people be under appreciated no matter how many times they whip my teams ass.
Hang tough big man. Fulmer or no Fulmer, the site still has a life. I’m a staunch Alabama fan, but I always stop by and read this site.
Think about the impact to humanity if you close up shop.
As a UT student from Syracuse, NY, I can’t emphasize enough the mistake that is being made today. If Tennessee wins out, Fulmer will end his career with ONE losing season in his run as HC. Back in Syracuse, we fired Coach Paul Pasqueloni after 14 seasons, with one losing record. The rest is history. While I do not think Tennessee will struggle the way Syracuse is, this is still wrong. “Tennessee is on the decline” my knoxville-born room mate said, which seems to be the general consensus around here. Last season the Vols lost to the eventual National Champions in the SEC title game by a Touchdown. If that is on the decline, then yeah i guess were there. My real question is who the hell does UT think they are going to hire that will be considered an upgrade? I can’t see one.

The man could coach X’s and O’s, but he could not manage. Without a solid OC, his teams have struggled. He made an exceptionally poor hire with Clawson, BUT it is more than apparent that Cutcliffe hid the fact that the O-Line was much weaker than advertised by running shorter drops last year. Fulmer had 150 wins, this is very true, but how many would he have had without Cutcliffe running the offense for so many years?
I had to see Fulmer go but changes happen and no going back now. This site will get excited again with a new coach. You may hate Hamilton but give the guy some credit for the Pearl hire. He woke up a sleeping giant of fans with that hire maybe he can do something similar with a football hire.
I feel I should say, I absolutely love this blog. Could tell me how I can go about keeping up to date with it? By the way I discovered this website through Lycos.http://www.aerobictrainingmachines.org
