So, I’m out travelling for a few weeks, and what happens? The world gets flipped upside down. Granted, I was at the UCLA game, and I was in the States to see the Florida game, but we’ve won a grand total of 1 game since. I’ve thought long and hard about this season, and what it means to be a Tennessee fan, and what it means to be a fairweather fan (I am leaning closer and closer towards just liking the hot team at the moment, but with Vandy losing, I’m not sure I can cheer for Bama), and I’ve come to a stark realization.
Is this what it used to be like to be a Kentucky fan?
I phrased the previous in the past tense because Kentucky fans now are enjoying annual bowl trips and some moderate success in football. Tennessee, on the other hand, now losing football games like high school girls lose their virginity (it’s been awhile since I’ve been in high school, but from what I can gather, it happens often).
This is what Kentucky fans must have gone through during the past 20+ years or so. Biding their time between basketball seasons with football, but not really caring what anyone outside their own team does. Because when your team is ranked somewhere in the 190s, what difference does it make what happens in the top 25?
The feeling must have been as it is for Tennessee fans now: the anxious anticipation, the nervousness, the slight disappointment at the experience and the stomachache that follows the deed. In short, Kentucky fans during football season used to feel like the aforementioned high school virgins. Tennessee fans have now been expunged of their own shit football virginity, and much like high school girls, once you lose it, the path to slutdom is just around the corner.

Wait! Are you saying UT (Vols) Football is not good this year?
We’re totally awesome! I’m already looking for national title game tickets. Who wants in?
I just have to say this was doubtlessly one of the best blurbs I’ve had the chance to come across on the topic so far. I don’t have any idea where you get all of your info but up! I’m going to send a few folks your way to check this out. Fantastic, simply fantastic. I’m just getting into crafting articles myself, nothing compared to your writing potential (ha!) but I would love for you to check out my stuff someday! here
