You saw the overhead view of Neltner getting hammered on the way to the basket during that “block,” right? The officials evened things out.

Balance that “short turnaround” and “entire week to prepare” with the fact that Vandy’s second leading scorer was riding pine for 85% of the second half, and they still won the game.

BTW, teams are going to watch that tape of Vandy bringing the big man down as an outlet to break the press as well.

Just a bump in the road.

OK it’s halftime of the Vandy game. UT went on a nice run at the end of the half, so I want to post this before the end of the game so if UT loses it doesn’t look like sour grapes.

Vanderbilt has the worst fans I’ve ever seen. Alums should be embarrassed.
-Expletives clearly audible on the broadcast.
-Students seeing the camera is on them and flipping the bird.
-Some 40 year old guy wagging his finger in Tyler Smith’s face after he hustled for a loose ball.

I remember some UT fans getting on the students earlier this year for profanity…I don’t see how anybody could take their kid to the game tonight.

I don’t think the game was officiated so much poorly as it was called “close.” Either way, with UT’s aggressive style, it hurt UT. Nobody can watch that tape and gameplan a way to beat the Vols without close officiating.
Ball control was frustrating too. I didn’t understand why the Vols insisted on driving almost uncontrolled into the lane and trying to dish it off to a covered guy at the last second. Also, lot of arguing on the radio today about whether they were tired, but about midway through the 2nd half when I saw Lofton could barely run the court, I thought they were clearly without their legs.

I also agree about the commentators; I thought I was going to have to mute the TV.
